On Wednesday (31/7/2019), the overall Asian markets witnessed a broad fall after the most awaited trade negotiations resumed yesterday (30/7/2019) that resulted immaterially, in fact, inflated tensions after President Trump criticized China for not cooperating through multiple tweets.

Strait Times Index (STI) of Singapore lost 0.51%, Hang Seng Index (HSI) of Hong Kong slipped 0.8%. The Shanghai Composite Index (SHCOMP) of China fells 0.6%. Nikkei of Japan dropped 1%. South Korea’s Kospi (KOSPI) lost 0.9%. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 dropped 0.2%. Taiwan’s Taiex also fell by 0.3%.

However as the market closes for Tuesday session, the Asian market was comparatively higher as per previous sessions and day’s low opening due to an expected rate cut by the US Federal Reserve.

STI of Singapore ends the day at 3,350.54, supplements around 8 points or 0.24% gain during the daily session. Also, the overall Asian markets closed broadly higher.
