SingaporeSingapore stocks opened lower with the STI record losses 24.3 focuses or 0.8 percent to 3,014.59.

Advance decline ratio points to 128 to 137, after 564.5 million changed hands.

The most active counter was SingTel, which fell 0.3 percent, or one penny to $2.87, with 2.8 million offers evolving hands.

Other list stocks included DBS which fell 0.9 percent, or $0.21 to $23.28 each, and YZJ Shipbuilding which lost 0.8 percent, or one penny to $1.24.

Global forecast for the markets support mild upside after rise in crude oil prices.

Crude oil prices were up Wednesday, climbing to a two-week high on hopes the OPEC and its allies will start reducing output.

Under solar power agreement company will install and operate rooftop solar panels at three logistics warehouses owned by Cache Logistics Trust, Company will own and operate the rooftop with a combined capacity of about 7.9 megawatts.

Aspen Holdings: Aspen Holdings real estate developer of Malaysia has acquired about 45 acres of land in Bandar Cassia Malaysia from Penang Development Corp. Company will be developing Aspen Vision City.

ISR Capital: Company seeking shareholder approval for the waiver of a condition to its purchase of a stake in a mining asset in Madagascar. ISR Capital requested a lift in its trading halt on Jan 3 before market open before exchange.

World Market

U.S. stock indexes opened sharply lower on Wednesday, amid mounting concerns about a slowdown in China’s economy, which could ripple internationally. Dow initially 354 points but later recovered and closes in positive +18.78.

The major indexes ended the day in positive territory. The Dow edged up 18.78 points or 0.1 percent to 23,346.24, the Nasdaq climbed 30.66 points or 0.5 percent to 6,665.94 and the S&P 500 inched up 3.18 points or 0.1 percent to 2,510.03.

Energy stocks move to the upside over the session, benefiting from a significant rise in crude oil.

Crude for February delivery jumped $1.13 to $46.54 barrel after hitting a low of $44.35 a barrel.
