Singapore Stocks: Singapore shares opened lower on Tuesday morning (Nov 20), with the Straits Times Index down 32.99 focuses, or 1.08 percent, to 3,032.08, after Wall Street stocks sank on Monday.

At 9.04am, failures dwarfed gainers by 97 to 24, with about 39.2 million offers worth $71.7 million evolving hands.
Among the most active stocks by volume was Metro, which increased seven pennies, or 6.5 percent, to $1.15, with about 8.18 million offers.

Halcyon Agri: Halcyon Agri said that it was launching a sustainable natural rubber supply chain policy (SNRSCP), which is meant to apply to the company and other stakeholders it trades with, and that it was setting up a Sustainability Commission to monitor the policy

SATS and Wilmar: SATS said on Monday that its auxiliary, SATS China, entered an arrangement with Tianjin Wuqing Hexiwu Town Government over the building and working a focal kitchen in Hexiwu Town Food Zone.

CapitaLand: CapitaLand’s hotel unit Ascott Ltd. has entered a tie-up with Indonesian property engineer Ciputra Development Group, with Ascott set to oversee adjusted living arrangements created by Ciputra in Indonesia and China throughout the following five years.

Global Market

In the US session, the Nasdaq 100 Index plunged more than 3 percent to the lowest since April, while the S&P 500 sank 1.7 percent. Apple slumped on signs of slowing demand for iPhones, while Facebook’s public image continued to weigh on its share price. Chipmaker Nvidia Corp plunged almost 28 percent in two days after disappointing earnings, sending shock waves through chipmakers.
